The fable of the man and the Italian post system I know a lot of people don’t like it when people complain about this country, so here is a little story instead. Once upon a time, a man wanted to send a document to the palace of DVLA in a far away

I have been meaning to go for years, but the mother-in-law lives round the corner and it seems a bit wrong to drive all that way and not see her. But Sunday we did the honourable thing and lied about where we were when she rang.

If you are renting a car it also pays to check the cost of these at different airports. I often pay extra on the flight to a different airport to take advantage of cheaper car hire. Does mean that it can take me all day to book a flight thoughsad   Mark

I usuaully suggest the keyhole to visitors, not many people know about it, but it is one of the most impressive views of Rome. Its at Garden of "Consiglio di Malta" on the Aventin, near to Santa Sabina and S Alessio, sort of close to 'Bocca della Verita. A car is not worth it, but make sure your hotel is close to the centre or a Metro stop. I have know people who have booked a 'in the centre' hotel to find out it was miles away with no direct transport.   Mark

It does not stick to religion, but tries to effect political voting here in Italy. NO, it does effect the voting. My mother -in-law was told who to vote for in the Lazio election in the Sunday service! If the Catholic church wants to play this sort of game it will have to get used to taking the blame when thing go wrong.

He is really curious to find out how far it did get, but since all the comments were written in Italian, I would guess it did not get very far? I have been know to make the obb spelling mistake, so when I have to write a address everything is triple checked and it is a bit like writing the Vatican and bothering with the rest of the address :-)

If you have one near you, Auchan sells a French type of cider. I find it is alright for cooking, but I find it's bit sweet and watery to drink. I go to one of the Irish pubs in Rome when the urge overcomes me. It passing quickly when I see the price though :/
