Campo 78, also known as Prigione di Guerra 78 – is an Italian, former prisoner of war camp located at Fonte d’Amore, just outside the town of Sulmona in the Abruzzo region of central Italy.
Valle San Giovanni Luncheon – 2011The eighth annual Valle San Giovanni luncheon takes place at noon on Saturday 1 October 2011 at DiPaolo’s Italian Ristorante in Penns Grove, NJ.

I put together a small site for the abandoned village of Frunti, (where my great grandmother lived) near Valle San Giovanni, and Alessandro most kindly gave me permission to use several of his beautiful photos. A wonderful Abruzzo resource.
Strongly agree with Sign Adiriatico. I built my small house from scatch in less than 8 months but only becsause I bought the property from a cousin who lived next door and was able to keep things moving while I remained in the USA. Most folks who are more satisfied have bought places that are habitable which allows you to have a place to stay while you slowing go through the renovation process. Senza Bidet
Interesting how the same ideas get passed aournd among the various cultures. In New Orlenans this (onions, celerey, carrots cooked in this way are referred to at the "Holy Trinity" and form the basis, along with the French Roux, for most ot the cajun dishes for which the area is so famous. I never put down money in Italy if I ever hope to get it back. I am not an expert but I would say your chances are extremely slim....Abruzzo
Driving out of Rome is three times easier than driving in. I would rent the car as planned and go for it....No Bidet in Abruzzo

My advice would be that if you have relatives in Italy let them assist you in the purchase. The best move I made....
