Tonight Harry starting charging around the house, rubbing his face on rugs, floor and generally being more hypo than the puppy that he is.  This immediately registered as a familiar scene from holiday weekend last year when we ended up with an eme

We have a lemon tree that has suddenly started to loose bark and split along two of the branches.  This is happening in the centre of the tree on older brances.

I have been researching wireless but found nothing in this area.  I was told Getby would, but when I contacted them they said no.  I have been using Vodafone mobile for nearly 3 years and this is just not reliable enough as I work from home.  To date it was less of an issue but now "work" changes have involved more company software etc and my dongle just is not enough (also 10 hrs a day on contract not enough).  I have had contact from 3 Tooway suppliers offering unlimited for €59 a month until Feb 2014.  If I can lose the Sky contract and the vodafone contract this works out cheaper than my current commitment.  Granted the set up costs €700-€800 are expensive but we live and work here full time and the lack of full time broadband and telephone is driving me nuts thus consider this outlay worth it.  Incidentally we did go down the TI landline route first - that was a joke!!

Sorry for repeating myself - this post did not appear even after logging out and back in thus tried another avenue to raise the question.  Internet problems!!! thus the need for Satellite broadband and help from the clever people here. :-)

Is it possible to get broadband and TV from the same satellite supplier here in Marche?  I have looked at the Tooway option for broadband and if I am going to be paying nearly €60 per month I would like to lose the subscription to SKY (would be preferable to also only have one dish).

Fabbriche - hopefully Enel will come to do your transfer whilst you are there and you can take a meter reading.  In any event make sure you have as up to date a reading as possible.  When Enel came to change our "builders supply" to our permanent supply I thought nothing of it and it was some some months later I noticed we were being billed for both supplies.  When questioned they had no cut off reading and it was a real pain trying to sort it out.  At least if you have a reading and this problem occurs you know what you should have paid up to for the builders supply.  In addition to our new build (knock down and reclaim) we had a small house in town that we lived in for the year it took to build thus seemed to always be getting bills and didn't notice it immediately.

I tried to open an account on-line about a month ago and all was going well until the very last page when I was asked to check everything was correct.  I did, it was, and then when I tried to "continue" - there was a message stating there was an error.  No explanation of what the error was or how to get round it - message just said there was an error and nothing I could do about it.  Seemed to be a technical error rather than information as that had all been accepted.  Hope you have better luck!

The English form and guidance notes are not yet available - assuming they will be on the 9th October when the online form is also available to complete.  It does say however that the form must be completed in Italian.  9th is census night thus details input for people in residence on that night - if not here then you will not be entered on form.  From memory I think we have until 20th November to complete the forms.  Also they are still being delivered up until 22nd October so don't worry if not yet received one.  Apparently there are 2 versions - smaller towns get the full version (red) of 84 questions but all other municipalities will have a reduced form (green) of 35 questions with just a selected sample getting the full 84 questions.  I have the full version and it doesn't look to difficult but I must confess I will be checking my understanding against the English version and guidance notes when available.

The past few days have been the same with Vodafone mobile broadband.  Normally I have no problems and can run skype, company software, e-mail etc but download has been so bad at times I can do nothing.  Just had 30 mins this morning when download back to the old HSDPA and o bps.  Was at point of giving up completely but improved a bit (obviously, I'm here!).  Hope this rubbish service doesn't last much longer or I shall have to stop work and go sit in the garden!  Sorry doesn't help your post but just in case there is some connection (no pun intended) .....................

Even with the most accurate information input it can cause problems out of the townsw.  Not to the point of going hours awry but certainly we have found sat nav trying to get us to turn when the round is actually not there and many roads we have driven on don't show on the sat nav but suggest you are in the middle of a field.  I think it has been a few years since this area was mapped.

I suspect the silence comes from everyone believing that the cost to bring food over would be in excess of the value of anything brought!  Or in other words there isn't anything we miss that much :-)  Maybe if you gave an indication of costs and confirmed if you have refrigeration facilities etc it might prompt some interest???

Direct Line honoured my no claims discount but then I had been insured with Direct Line in the UK before moving here so maybe that was why.  I have sinced used Italsure, groupama and Direct Line and do recommend that you get several quotes when you renew as it does vary each year.  I went with Direct Line first year to get my NCD but then went to Italsure the second year as wanted policy docs in English.  Third year found wasn't worth paying much higher premium for English wording (my Italian improved!!) and found groupama were most competitive.   Have been with Direct Line since, renewing just last week for another year.
