Tonight Harry starting charging around the house, rubbing his face on rugs, floor and generally being more hypo than the puppy that he is.  This immediately registered as a familiar scene from holiday weekend last year when we ended up with an eme

We have a lemon tree that has suddenly started to loose bark and split along two of the branches.  This is happening in the centre of the tree on older brances.

Maybe it is just too early.  I rarely book flights way in advance but do remember winter before last wanting to  book one for last June and had to wait until within 6 months or so of the date.  I appreciate we are currently slightly less than 6 months from 1st November but I see there is nothing for 30th/31st October or January 2012 either.  Don't panic yet!!!

My Kindle arrived about 3 hours ago and still experimenting but it does acknowledge if you change where you are located then it does affect your account................................ I am permanently in Italy and rarely leave the country so I don't imagine this will be an issue for me.  Early days so I may have got this wrong, but I recall reading that you can "borrow" books from fellow Kindle owners!  Maybe we can set up a new group :-)

Hi Annec I went for the 3G version too.  I use vodafone dongle for my internet so figured the extra cost for the 3G was worth it.  We are southern Marche and trying to get a land line was painful so gave up after a year or so.

I have ordered from Amazon.com as that was the only option for delivery in Italy.   Downloading books from the American store should not be a  problem as there seems to be loads, I was just concerned that I would be restricted to what Amazon thought an Italian would want.  I can't be doing with having one sent to UK and then depending on friends to bring/post it out and then probably having problems downloading as it would pick up that I was using an Italian ISP.  The Italian site directed me to the American site and order confirms it works "globally" and there are no additional charges for using outside of US.  Thanks everyone for your input. p.s. re the book shop - don't get out that way very often but when we came to the Pup's party September before last I brought a (car) boot full of books and forgot about them, bringing them all home again.  I have loads I can donate and will get round to doing so eventually.

Hello TheItalianLife Your comment "They fly like pteradactyls!" made me smile as I did actually comment to my husband at the time that the sight was "very Jurassic Park". Hello Sprostoni No babies due here - and certainly not 7!!

Yesterday lunch time we had a flock of 7 storks "playing" in the thermals over the calanchi at the bottom of our garden.  Amazing to watch.

Just had a response from A Copeland and they WILL still insure our home however they are £100 more than Intasure.  There are some differences in cover but not sure I want to pay an extra £100 for them.

We too were told the same tale from Italsure, though In fairness I did then authorise them to look elsewhere.  Yes, it was Intasure that then contacted me and the cover is inferior (earthquake excess raised from £2,500 to £5,000 for example) but the quote is slightly less.  Paid £483.20 last year, quoted £440.74 this year.  However these figures both seem very high compared to those stated above, especially as we are resident full time and thus the burglary risk is diminished drastically.  Thanks for the tip; I too will be contacting Andrew Copeland direct.
