Questions Asked

Does anyone know how to prepare the red and yellow bell pepper side dish, which is usually served cold. Are they roasted and then preserved in vinegar or are they freshly prepared and then left to go cold.

Have been driving in Italy on our holidays for the last five years and it is still a mystery of who is meant to give way on a roundabout.

My husband and I have been learning Italian mostly with the Michel Thomas CD's on and off for about four years now.

Hi, my husband and I are looking to move to Southern Italy in the next few years. My husband is a qualified mechanic here in England.

We are considering advertising our holiday home on the Italy Mag website next year and wondered if anyone has any first hand experience of having done so. We would be interested to hear if you thought it increased bookings much.

Rosella's pizzeria/ristorante is our favourite restaurant. It is situated in the main piazza of Sicili in Campania and is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Hi there, does anyone have experience of using satellite broadband for their internet in Italy. Did some research about three years ago and it was rather expensive. If anyone has got it, have the prices now come down and who are they using.

............we read on an Economy Car Hire email the other day that Ryanair charge an £80 penalty if you arrive at the airport without checking in online, when you should have done. This apparently covers the cost of reissuing a boarding pass. Can they think of any more money making schemes??

Blue & Mon - We bought ours from the Swiss Travel Centre. We had the same email yesterday as Alan had. If I remember correctly it was a bit misleading as to whether or not there would be a delivery charge until you got through to the last page. Hope this helps.

Blue & Mon - £29 was the full online price when we got ours that way a few weeks ago. We paid by credit card so no extra fees for that or delivery.

Good news! The grimsel and furka passes opened last Saturday. The earliest in the last ten years. It looks like we have picked the right year to drive after all. Can't wait now!

We use Robertson McIssac - http://www.rmib.co.uk/foreign_home.html Admittedly we haven't had our renewal through yet, but we have always found them very reasonable in the past and they do earthquake cover too.

Thanks Alan h. We have also found the second one in Italian in the past. See http://www.tcs.ch/main/it/home/verkehrsinfo/paesse_tunnels.html We can understand this one a bit better than the German one. Have also found a few webcams that we will be keeping our eye on nearer the time. Apparently the snow hasn't been as plentiful so far this year - unlike last year. So we are keeping our fingers crossed that it will continue that way. Many thanks John & Toni
