Hi there,So I have booked my flight out to Milan, and will be arriving at the start of February. It's nice to have a firm date that I can work to now, it makes my move feel more real.I have done some research on the language schools in the city, and the types of courses available. My plan is to do one month of study, probably an intesive course with four lessons in the morning and another two in the afternoon so hopefully this will give me a good chance to pick up as much as possible. I have read good things about Scuola Leonardo, has anyone studied there or heard feedback on the courses? Any other options would be gratefully received, as unless I hear otherwise I think I will just book the course there this week. Hope you are all well,A presto,J

Hi James Shame no-one replied to you about this. I've no experience of the Scuola Leonardo in Milan or anywhere else, so didn't immediately post a reply. However, if you look for my thread 'How are you learning Italian in Italy?' of a few weeks ago, you'll find someone was talking about very cheap lessons from the local comune, which might be worth following up. Something else worth checking is whether the school you're thinking of has teachers who have a qualification in teaching Italian as a foreign language/second language. I have been in the business of teaching Italian all my adult life and it's a very different thing teaching your own language to foreigners rather than to native speakers (as you might get with school teachers looking for some extra work). I'm not saying it's essential, but it gives you an idea of how 'serious' the school is. If you've already booked, good luck with it and hope the move to Milan goes well. I have fond memories of the city from my postgraduation years. Shame the timing and the location don't fit either, otherwise I'd have offered to help out.   All good wishes

Hi there, Many thanks for your reply. I have actually already booked the course at the school, so hopefully it is as good as it sounds. Feedback from past students reads very well, and I would rather have an intensive course than study part time at the local comune. Glad to hear you enjoyed your time in the city, I will no doubt have further questions for the board as I get closer to departing, my current task is converting my Resume from English to Italian - oh the joys! Buon fine settimana, J
