The Italian Military hauled unexploded bombs, hand grenades and mortars weighing around 500 pounds out of Lake Como on Wednesday after a fisherman raised the alarm. The World War II munitions were found close to George Clooney’s Villa Oleandra, reports TMZ.

Clooney’s home was sealed off and other residents in the vicinity were told to stay indoors during the military operation. A local policeman said that the munitions were unstable as they had been in the water for so long.

George Clooney and his girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis are not staying in the villa at this time. Clooney told TMZ,

“This is not the first bomb I’ve experienced”.

It is believed that the munitions have now been taken to a cave and detonated.
