Naples Man Sneezes Out Bullet and Lives

Naples has a bit of a rowdy reputation when it comes to New Years Eve celebrations. When the clock struck midnight this year, the traditional fireworks began and some over-enthusiastic revelers added to the festivities by discharging firearms aimlessly into the air.

28-year-old Darco Sangermano was outside ringing in the New Year with his girlfriend when he was struck in the head by a stray bullet.

Sangermano was hit on the side of his head, behind his right eye. The bullet came to rest in his nostril and he was rushed to the hospital while bleeding heavily.

While waiting to be treated by doctors, Sangermano sneezed. The simple sneeze freed the bullet from where it was lodged and the projectile fell right out of his nostril.

Amazingly, the sneeze was almost all that was needed. Sangermano must undergo surgery to repair some damage to his right retina, but he should not suffer any long term damage due to the bullet wound.
