I have quite a bit of land in southern sicily and have been told that you need to have a 6ft fence around the perimeter of your land to legally stop hunters and anyone else coming onto your land.  6ft seems quite high.  Does anyone know if this is true.

I plan to let out my property but in line with some earlier posts I can not justify a full size pool - mountain lakes and sea are only half an hour away and local lido closer.

However I do appreciate the appeal for guests. So I am now considering an above ground pool or jacuzzi.

After many years of staying here in Italy, we have decided to make a grand pilgrimage to the UK this winter for Christmas, visiting new grandchildren etc. We always got the same route, up through Italy, Gotthard Pass, Switzerland, Strasbourg, Last bit of France etc to Calais. We know a REALLY cheap place to get petrol in Calais, where all the truckers go, but I was wondering if anyone has any places that they know in Italy - the whole length to the border from Marche - as we are fed up with paying high prices on the motorway for diesel.

Can anyone advise on a herbicide to spray under dormant vines available on the market in Italy? Haven't been able to locate any Roundup.
