Questions Asked

After my success answering Annec's question, its my turn. However, I’m not clever enough for an ‘Italian’ question – so I’ll go for one with a ‘Greek’ connection insteadI’m a ‘sad’ man who likes numbers.

Only thing you now need driving down is the Covid Pass for entry to France  (and possibly Italy)

My place - used about 10 weeks a year, costs approx €600 for Council Tax and €180 for the TARI  Rubbish Tax.

For the TARI I get collections of rubbish bags,  four or 5 times a week from the front gate

  •   Monday - metal cans etc
  •   Tuesday - Paper
  •   Wednesday  - plastics
  •   Thursday  - Non-recyclable
  •   Friday  - kitchen waste  (2 days a week in Summer)

We live in a small 'hamlet' of approx 20 houses, down a narrow road.  Collection is by a one man mini tipper truck which returns to a central area and tips its load into a "normal sized" rubbish lorry. This system of mini tipper operates throughout the commune area, even in the ,town', because of narrow streets

I know it's several years ago, but we bought the flatpack beds and rolled up foam mattresses from IKEA.  They fitted in the car for transporting to our house

Go to your local super/hypermarket and buy some bags of pellets there.

Don't give up.   Talk to the Comune if the limits in modicasa's post below are being exceeded . That's what I would do.

Not sure - it could be.

Sad to say that when I have a question like that, I talk to my bilingual italian friend.

He understands the 'Italian Mentality' and can deal with such things for me.

The comune is the local council.

If you are in Bergamo - https://www.comune.bergamo.it/
