The garden is at it's most colourful now with iris's and roses looking good. Thinking ahead, I find July and August there is a lack of flowering plants.

Just enjoyed a lovely bass cooked on the BBQ.  Not being very scientifically minded, if I was to bury the remains, head, bones and tail and plant something on top would it rot down and become what we know as blood, fish and bone ???

Sure AngieL, you are not wrong.  I too know of many people, let down by geometra's that have cost them mega bucks to put right their wrong doings.  I do not have marble statues as I cant afford a pool, but have a nice house that I wanted to live in........so each to their own and not necessarily at huge expense !

Hope you have a nice one .  Like site alot, and used to really enjoy looking here and learning and asking...Now feel unsure and unhappy at posting as to what reply I may get.  Maybe a testosterone only section in classifieds would be the answer. Mrs D.

Bought sweet potatoes in Sainsbury's uk when last there.  Only had room for one in pocket but chose what I thought was the best one.  Put in in glass pointy end down and filled with water (well 3/4 height of potato) and put in warm light place...this was 3 weeks ago and as yet nothing has happened.  What am I doing wrong or if the sweet potato duff.  Any advise welcomed from fellow potato heads....

Just a question Annec, can you get the sort of plants Karen wants over your way???  Sure you can get more choice but would be interested to have plant list from where you are to compare to here.  Know you have sent me list in past as to what does well for you but would still be nice to know what can you get where you live...not only what does well that you have bought from uk...although interested in that too... thanks.

3/4 of an acre is a large space Karen....Is it for you or for client...I do agree with you, it is difficult to source a variety of plants here and know there must be a demand so why no suppliers.... sure not just a historical thing.....Are things different up north or down south  or even sideways...can you buy lavatera, choisya, lilac anywhere here ??? Other than by mail-order from a few nurseries... I too would be interested to know..... Can anone advise?....Thanks for original post.

Did look at other forum and agree with Charlotte. Forums do provide people with much needed and appreciated help and advice, shame some people cant just 'live and let live'.
