Questions Asked

We have some galvanized metal garage doors which we applied paint claiming to be suitable for the task, a couple of years ago but not long after began to blister and peel with the heat of the summer.

We think our desktop is nearing the time for replacement, and we need to have a machine running on UK/English software. Have done some research but so far have not found any company that will supply from UK to Italy.

Just a quick question, does anyone know if you are able to register your Italian address with your UK bank account. We have read that this is possible but have also heard differently.

Fully endorse Pennys comments about Cittadella, we stayed here a few years ago before we'd bought anywhere. We arrived hot and scratchy after a long drive and were treated to three days of pure bliss. It was such a relaxing place to stay and Silvio was a perfect host.  The view as Penny says is phenomenal. The food was fantastic and would certainly recommend it as a place to stay for friends and family as well as somewhere to eat.

Forgot to mention about paint, we use the paint place just outside Falerone on the rod to Fermo, not sure if its name but its a small place next door to a car mechanics place on the right going towards Fermo (only a few minutes out of Falerone). They are very helpful there and will mix and advise about colours but they don't do small - the least we could buy was 2.5 litres - 17.50 euros for bathroom paint, it costs a euro per deep shade you want to go if mixing. We used to go to the one at Grozzalina - big colourful place but it seems to have moved away from paints...Happy hunting...Jo

Hi John, the Brico at Tolentino is opposite the Simply Iper market and Lidl. Take the turning for Tolention off the dual carriageway and at the roundabout take first right (so you are almost going back on yourself. Follow the road for a couple of miles and the Brico is on the right - though you will see the Supermarkets first. There is also a couple of Bricos at Civitanove Marche again on the same complex as Iper (just beyond the toll booths for the motorway). All the Brico's close during lunchtime - though times vary - it depend what you want we've got a few bits and pieces from there but if you want tiles and stuff you have to go to an Edil... It takes more time to get Fai de Te here - the Italians aren't really into do it yourself! Good luckJo

Just because people aren't contributing something (whatever that may be) through this forum doesn't mean that they are'nt. Maybe they just don't want to shout about it. Giving is a personal thing and assumptions about who does and who doesn't based on the information here is not very fair.Jo

Hi, does anyone know how easy it is to change bank accounts. Ours was set up (Bank of Ancona) when we purchased our house but the costs are pretty horrific per year. I just wondered how easy it was to transfer our exisitng DD's etc. In the UK I know the banks usually do it all, but not sure here. The BCC Picena certainly sounds much more palatable and we miss not having online access(we would have to pay even more money! Having said all that we have not had any problem, it just seems like a lot of dosh to pay...ThanksJo
