We're toying with the idea of getting a 125cc scooter (e.g. Vespa).

We have a 'community' of semi feral cats living around us. One of them gave birth to four kittens last year on our doorstep and have pretty much stayed around since.

Hi has anyone had experience of taking grapes to a cantina? We have quite a good harvest (I think) but don't have all the equipment to press our own wine - nor the skills I hasten to add.

Hi does anyone have experience of a dentist in Le Marche area, preferably English speaking. Someone gave the the name of one near Porto San Giorgio but all I'm getting is an engaged tone - they may be on holiday I suppose.

Well Bert is still taking liberties. As you see from the photos having got rid of one of our relatives from the sunbed - last night - he decides to lie on it himself. Yes, I know he's back to front.

Have just been sent a form by ENEL following a request to them to change our supply from Domestico Non Residente to Domestico Residente. The form "appears" to allow you to self-certify your residence or get a copy of your residency from the comune

Hi Dylano, thanks for the information. We got the form from Hena the vet in Sarnarno last week, she rang up the regional vet services for us and we have to complete and take the form to our local commune (which is Penna San Giovanni). We have translated the form now (very roughly) and you need to be able to list the number of males and females and any kittens (there are loads around here but a small group of 6 who have adopted us - includes three kittens) so you must be able to get that close to them! Trouble is with the kittens its a bit more difficult to tell. Hena said we have to keep on at the commune to get the form submitted, so maybe we will just have a go and sort it out. We don't want to be overrun  with more kittens, can't bring ourselves to do what a neighbour suggested (involving a shovel!) and its an expensive business to take on personally. I think we'll just register the cats who adopted us as its impossible to tell how many more there are about. I just wanted to see if anyone had actually been through it. Apparently this is a Le Marche thing, not sure about the other regions. Thanks for your interest. Jo

Yes, we've felt them here too - Penna. Quite strong as you say Penny. The dog gives us a few seconds warning by being very spooked before we feel them. Hope they stop now.   SimonandJo

Hi you two. Here are a couple: Extra Virgin by Annie Hawes -pretty good A Valley in Italy by Lisa St Aubin de Teran - OK, but she obviously has too much money!! Italian Neighbours by Tim Parks - excellent The Italian Quarter by Domenica de Rosa - excellent Another good one but based on Spain is Driving Over Lemons. Cant't remember who wrote it but it was the drummer in Genesis before the little feller, Phil Collins. It's very good and there is also a sequel called somthing like A Parrot in a Tree. Happy ordering.   SimonandJo                 i

Hi Sprostini, 0.69 was my download speed and I've just checked it again sorry I suppose the 0 and the. were important! Duh. Upload is 0.27 and Ping is 69. Sorry if I confused you...Had problems last night when we wanted to watch strictly - but not sure if our server was working so will try again tonight. Si watches the grand prix on it mainly to listen to the english commentary! Its not brilliant but we only watch a few things so it suits us for a bit of entertainment every now and then.JO
