Adelmo Fornaciari, who, as “Zucchero”, is probably Italy’s best-known popular singer outside his own country, is to release a new CD internationally on 3rd November.

Entitled “Chocabeck”, the CD will be launched officially in Milan on 31st October in an as yet undisclosed venue which, we are promised, will surprise and delight all the singer’s fans.

“Chocabeck” is a dialect term from Zucchero’s home region of Emilia-Romagna, explains ANSA. It is the dialect name for an aromatic herb but can also mean, “Go away” (in a rather strong sense!). Zucchero was born in Roncocesi, Reggio Emilia, in 1955.

On the international edition of the CD the track, “Il suono della domenica” [“The Sound of Sunday”] will be replaced by “Someone Else’s Tears”, with lyrics by Bono. The musicians Max Marcolini, Davide Rossi, Jon Hopkins, Bob Carr and Jeffrey Foskett have also worked with Zucchero on the CD.
