Beckham in Naples presepe

New AC Milan signing David Beckham has gained a spot among the year's movers and shakers anointed by the Nativity Scene makers of Naples.

A statuette of Beckham appeared Monday alongside the shepherds, angels, Holy Family and other celebrities in a 'presepe' shop on Via San Gregorio Armeno, the city's manger mecca.

Beckham was shown in a black suit, white shirt and black tie, complete with neck and hand tattoos - much as he was togged out for Milan's glitzy presentation at the weekend.

The England midfielder, who has joined Milan on a three-month loan, joined an array of hot presepe tickets this year led by United States President-elect Barack Obama.

Among the other Christmas stars local craftsmen have picked to lure buyers are newsmaking Inter Milan soccer coach Jose' Mourinho, his star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and the soccer idol who has joined fellow Argentinian Diego Armando Maradona in Neapolitan hearts, Ezequiel Lavezzi.

This year's other new entries include Carla Bruni, Nicolas Sarkozy and two Italian cabinet members whose reforms have made waves, Education Minister Mariastella Gelmini and Civil Service chief Renato Brunetta.
