Museo San Giacomo a Lu Monferrato

Submitted by latoca on

Lu Monferrato, the village where I come from in Piemonte, has a small religious museum called Museo San Giacomo.

The history of Lu is strictly intertwined with religion in all its manifestations: art, culture, day to day life and this is really what brings our small museum to life. The history of the community through religion and art is really what is in display. The building the hosts the museum is also of architectural interest, making the visit a complete cultural experience.

Just finished buying a house - now the fun starts :)

Hi there, just bought a house in Chieti, in a small village.  When I viewed the house I was accompanied by a Geometra who offered to do a survey for me.  I paid E300 for the survey which was in fact no more than about 15 words saying that the house was 'structurally sound' but needed some work doing to the roof which would be in the region of E6,000.

Advice on finding a notaio

Submitted by rjd on

I am seeking advice  on behalf of my mother who is experiencing problems from her relatives over her continued residence at a house in  Posillipo 80123.

I understand there is an “Usufrutto” agreement on the property and I am trying to find out which solicitor holds details of this, so that we can establish her rights.

Does anyone know if there is a system in Italy which enables you to establish who the notaio would be for a particular property, if so how do I access this information?

Thanks

Mio nonno

I have been told that my grandfather was an Italian prisoner of war in England during the second world war. He met my grandmother and wanted her to go to Italy with him to live, but for some reason she wouldn't go. In the meantime my mother was conceived and was born in 1945 after the war had finished and I presume after my grandfather had returned to Italy. All I know is what his first name was and where he was prisoner of war. I haven't a clue what part of Italy he came from or anything else about him.

Scaffolding

Help!!!!

We've got the premssions to renew our roof, we got the details of a reputable scaffolding company from the mayor, and works starts tomorrow....

We have a registered builder doing the work, but, the scaffolding sticks out into the road, its only single track. We've got a warning triangles, lots of red and white tape, flag etc. so there's lots of notice.  Should we have got some sort of additional permission?  There were photos of the house that went in with the planning application, but something niggling in the back of my mind!
