Hi does anyone make there own bread? in particular wheat free, using speltflour. Have tried doing a search but very little joy. I have read that the amount of bread being produced in Italy has risen dramaticaly since     2008.

Hi Hayley PrinsThank you for your tip. I haven't tried it yet but the sicurezzadoes ring a bell. Two Italian relatives have tried and said best todo it next time I am in Italy. Excuse me for repeating myself.i have a postepay account set up whilst in Italy. It seems the mistake was giving the post office an UKmobile number. Internet access was not set up. I set up an internet access account but not able to use it, ie put monies into it etc. Also the card I was given in Italy has a 6 digit pin this does not seem to work in uk so cannot get paypal security code.Any further help gratefully accepted.

Hello,Sorry don't have your contact name (Italymagazine doesn't  seem to work as it once did)I saw your comment regarding paying bills from UK. I have a question. Are you an Italian Resident? I sent your comment to a relative in Italyand he rang Post.it and was told this account could only be operated by an Italian resident. I am not an Italian resident so am very keen to know if it is possible to do what you describe.Hope to hear from you soon ( I realise your posting was back in 2008) RegardsDavid

Hi, With reference to your request for info on which strimmer to buy. I decided after much speculating to buy the Honda model which is 4 stroke and therefor not requiring a 2 stroke mix and less fumes. I used it as a grass/weed cutter prior to buying a mower and I can safely say it has served me well. I was also able to use it for quite a while with out too much trouble. Switching it from left to right hand. I purchased it of a supplier through Italian Ebay which turned out to be a UK company so all my queries were sorted and delivery was a similar price to buying it in the UK.

Sorry, forgot to mention just in case its of any use. I constantly trim the plants in order for good root formation.

Hi Our property was a new build on farmland so it was a blank canvas. I decided to go for a "try anything" and be prepared for the good and the bad. I carried out a soil test and then checked out what plants/trees could be sent from the UK. At the time I found oak, fruit and I think viburnum (related I think to oak) the only problem. I found the best supplier for quality and price was Buckingham Nurseries, http://hedging.co.uk/ I tried purchasing locally to our property in Lazio but found it to be a farcical exercise. I found nearly everything not only survive but grew very well even though they were all left to the elements. Climbers are not so easy and am still experimenting. When transporting the plants I remove all packing and leave very little earth, so as to keep the weight down. I have done this many times and success rate has made it very well worth the effort. Also took 50 forsythia plants that were cuttings from home  and eight months later are doing ok. I would therefore say experiment, experiment. Good gardening.

With reference to my previous reply all I can say is, silly me. I should have read up a little before replying. Oh dear such short lived pleasure. I wonder, is there any future at all regarding radio for Brits abroad?

Hi everyone, Regarding the BBC and in particular Radio 4 and 2   I am an avid listener to Radio 4 and miss it when I visit Italy. So a few months ago I decided once and for all to attempt to see if I could  obtain a signal. I investigated which was the best satellite receiver etc and how to  set up a dish. One day later, of moving a dish setup along our balcony and varying the up and down left to right etc I found the fine line of Astra 2 @ 28.2 and eureka BBC Radio. Our house is in Cassino which is according to the facts not easy to get a signal unless you have a pretty large dish. It may seem sad but its great to hear Radio 4 and Radio 2.  A contended listener!
