So the first Pope to stand down; blames it on poor health (in mind and body) .... so nothing to do with the financial scandal about to hit then?

Especially for all those who would rather have a dig at each other, or feign disdain for people they don't know from Adam. Please feel free to continue the petty squabbles here; I've even given you a special place to fling shite at each other so yo

A very interesting but disturbing article, how many other Italian cities could follow, we all know it's bad here.

I think I need to get this off my chest, as it bugs me no end on this Forum/Community site. Now we all agree that this site exists for primarily the English speaking Ex-Pat community right; and by English speaking I mean just that not differing to

If you can afford to leave money in a Bank Account with it's minimal Interest for 10 years or more then you probably don't need it anyway. If you had been serious about the money you should have invested it in an ISA or other high interest methods, but to leave it untouched/unchecked for that lenght of time you deserve to loose it.....

If it's good and fresh, then just cook in a pasata with some Garlic and Capers for about 8 minutes until the fish softens. Ling (Molva) is like Cod and fresh is best unless you get the Salted Dried variety.

It is common held belief that Porcupines can Project or fire their Quills...they cannot. The quills will fall out on contact with a predator or lodge in it, but the animal has no mechanism to allow these to be projected. The only way they can appear to be projected at an object is when they shake themselves and some are dislodged. This is fact ( studied these Rodents for a thesis)

La Vita è bella (Life is Beautiful) is my all time favourite; makes me shed a tear everytime I watch it. I don't think you can get a film with more laughter, joy, heartache and devotion crammed in to a story.

Answer to: LPG Gas bottles

Why do you want to lug a UK gas bottle over 1000 miles??? You can get gas bottles full at every village store or Petrol station. They cost the same, as no deposit required, each time you get a full one, and most places will deliver for a minimal charge..... oh and you can get about 3 different sizes too..

Re Pellets, prices vary on several factors :-

  • Where you by them from
  • How many at a time you buy
  • Where they are produced

We tend to buy the Austrian Pellets @ €4.50 a 15kg that have a better calorific value and run cleaner than a lot of the cheaper Italian/Other makes.

My Wife uses an inhaler from time to time with mild asthma, and she gets them free. Now she is Italian but a freind of ours who is English does also get hers free as she is entitled to Italian Health care by transfering her entitlement from the UK. The type of inhaler here is slightly different from the ones in the UK (Brown and Blue caps), but talk to your doctor and he will test you and ensure you get the correct doses.

Hi Penny, well not having trawled through the small print myself, I took the word of a friend of ours who said he had, but I stand corrected if I'm/he's wrong, he said that the rate is nearly quadrupled after 60mins. I must admit we don't usually stay on the phone for anything longer than 30 mins to family and friends so have not had any extra charges.
