Tiramisù, anyone?

On Saturday 155 residents of the Swiss- Italian town of Porrentruy spent 14 hours at their local ice rink making the biggest tiramisù in the world. The dessert, measuring 8 cm high [almost 3 inches] measured 59 square metres [c. 538 square feet] in area. Here are the ingredients for those of you wishing to try this recipe:

*799 kilos [1,761 lbs] mascarpone

*6,400 eggs

*350 litres cream [739.68 pints]

*189 kilos sugar [416.67 lbs]

*300 litres coffee [634 pints]

*35 kilos cocoa [77.162 pints]

*66 litres liqueur [139.48 pints]

*64,000 savoiardi biscuits

The finished tiramisù weighed 2,310 tonnes [5,092.678 lbs] and has been declared the largest ever made by the Guinness Book of Records. Yesterday the good folk of Porrentruy were said to be queueing up for a taste.
