Questions Asked

I know this problem has been mentioned in an earlier post, but it has just reared its ugly head again. When we changed the registration of the Citroen from UK to Italian, despite there being a tow bar fitted, it was not noted on the registration.

Anyone know how to ask for the skin to be left on a pork roast, so that you can get the crackling?? Just had a beautiful loin roast from the butcher, but they cut all the skin off before it is on display, so no nice crunchy bits when roasted.

For those of you, who walk dogs around the San Ruffino tracks. There is an Italian Woman who sometimes has been seen there with an Alsatian, quite often not on a lead.

RonaldWhat is happening with this site as regard to the connection speed etc. I can usually go for a coffee and cigarette before anything loads.

Stalk & clean 1lb of sloes, prick all over with a darning needle and put in a bottling jar. Add 3-4oz of granulated sugar + a few drops of almond essence or a little Noyeau liqueur.

Anyone have a Canon printer that uses the BCI 24C colour cartridges? I have 5 unused compatible cartridges, as now have a Epson printer. Free to a good home, as against throwing them in the bin!!

Is there a function so that we can insert a PDF or Word document into a post? I have some information for the Energy certificate topic, but cannot see any way to insert it without copying and pasting( PDF of about 7 pages).

The last few weeks, have been walking the dog past the above park area in the evenings. The picnic/viewing area is virtually overgrown, with only the first few metres of grass having been cut, empty plastic bottles strewn around the bins etc.

You may be able to order it locally. May be worth asking Stephano Lucozzi, as if he does not, he may recommend someone else. With solar PV panels, have seen a few places advertising them, but no idea on cost. Don't forget, that the Nuos is only for domestic hot water and not heating as well.

Apologies for the long delay, but here are the Nuos prices: Model price (euro) Nuos 80 778,00 Nuos 100 822,00 Nuos 120 899,00 Nuos EVO 80 854,00 Nuos EVO 110 922,00 Nuos 200 2187,00 Nuos 250 2227,00 Nuos 250 SOL 2305,00 Nuos EVO SPLIT 80 930,00 Nuos EVO SPLIT 110 998,00 Nuos EVO SPLIT 150 1593,00 Nuos EVO SPLIT 200 1669,00 Nuos EVO SPLIT 300 2305,00 VAT, transport and installation are not included. It is a fairly straightforward air source heat pump, but designed for domestic hot water only and not heating. I have asked our office for some guide prices, so will post them as soon as I hear back. Link to the brochure in English which will explain how it works etc http://www.source.gemashop.de/ariston/Ariston-Nuos-Warmwasser-W%C3%A4rme...

Hi Rendo. If you go for the Ariston Nous, then there is no certification needed. Just remember it will need a few hours to heat up and you may need the electric heater, if you arrive and expect instant hot water.

Thanks for the answers. I looked on the hare preservation trust UK website and it said to feed it the kitten milk for some time, as that is the closest to the mothers milk. It now has fresh grass in with it as well to nibble on, so it is getting the best we can do for it at the moment. We have no cats, but the Setter likes it, Maremma, still to find out if it will be ok. Qui Gia ... yes did rub its tummy and it peed over the wife's jumper!!!

Thanks. It is something we have never done, so a real challenge at the moment to make sure it survives.

Doors are ridiculously overpriced here, even the internal ones. We had all our internal ones brought over from the UK, and a local carpenter made the frames and fitted/ varnished the doors (7 in all ). Cost was about  3500 Euro, including the UK purchase price. External door bought here at E 1800, has had to be refixed twice, ( warped and would not shut and then would not lock a year or so later ). Best one we had before coming here was made for a French house we had at about E500 and fitted perfectly. Both external doors were Chestnut wood. Window price for 13 UPVC under E 4500, excluding the shutters, which were as expensive

Must admit Gala, that the hardest part was finding the buttermilk to marinade the deer in over here. Thankfully, our friendly cheese making farmer came up with it, so 30hrs marinating, with lardons inserted. Quickly seared in a pan and then oven cooked on high heat for 20 mins. Beautiful and pink, tender as well. The red cabbage, is to a German recipe. Finely chopped onions fried in lard, chopped apple, red wine vinegar, so very similar to what you had made.
