Has anyone any idea if the Italian Poste has the equivalent of a bankers draft and if so, are there are any limits on the amount and what is the cost...?
We are unsure about moving articles over there as opposed to buying when we get there, but know it will likely cost more to buy over there and be more hassle. So we want to get an idea of the cost of moving some of our stuff out there?
Welcome to the forum Stan. Where did you buy and how long did it take? Oh, and are you prepared to tell us why you sold up and how the market changed ovr that time?
You are doing the right thing reading up on it! Keep doing so…. To be taxed less when buying (on the purchase) you have to state you are going to be resident there, which leads to income tax and a very complex situation. Income tax is much higher in Italy, so you probably don’t really want to end up taxed over there on income.
Something not right as house tax is payable on the house, not the number living there. It would be for 2 people if the house is in both names. Rubbish tax is a different matter and normally based on number and sqm of the house.
What you have to do is NOT think UK, I warn you now in Italy a contract is a laugh! You cannot enforce anything without incurring massive legal cost and they would potentially drag on for years. Meanwhile they will enforce payments with debt companies brought in to make your life hell… I hope your Italian is very good…. :)

Really! Are you prepared to be stuck there should a second lockdown come in throughout Europe?
We are in the UK for lockdown, now do not intend to travel until there is a vaccine....however long that takes.. Keep safe all!

Have you tried contacting the comune here? Good luck!
You can calculate it here, information required would be on your deeds and/or you agent should be able to tell you before buy.
