We are unsure about moving articles over there as opposed to buying when we get there, but know it will likely cost more to buy over there and be more hassle. So we want to get an idea of the cost of moving some of our stuff out there?

I'm guessing you already know this guy? I only know of him from the local Abruzzo forum and his house ads, from which I would not particularly seek him out. I did have contact details for a guy called Amato (?) who works out of Penne, but does travel. But suspect they have been dumped, he is doing work for a friend right now, so I’ll ask them for details. They are a bit “iffy” on providing such, so I would not bank on it.He has not done work for us but has done several jobs for the friends at different times and I've seen how well they work - they are good.
A bit pointless I think if you do not speak Italian, and I would suggest it is not a good idea to post your number on an open forum. Use Google translate to translate the web page, most web browsers right click on page and translate or install something to do it for you. You really will need to understand the basic Italian for renting at least.

Sounds to me you really need to find out what she is expecting and why. Hopefully Modi can help better, but would she be perhaps thinking she is entitled to part/quota of your father-in-laws estate?
You also have to take into account the standing charges, however we found in reality once we got rid of the light bulbs throughout, electricity cost us no more than the UK. Then again we live very differently in Italy
Sorry to hear that. I know it is a worry as we have a friend who is just in the process of selling and she has been back in the UK for 2-3 years or more. For her it was not quite as bad as she had lived there for some years and knows what needs to be paid and has had someone to keep in touch and help keep things in order. What is your agent doing and have they been of any help?
