Crossing Italy on 3 Wheels for Pizza Pilgrimage

Two brothers from London have begun their epic, if slow, journey through all of Italy. James and Thom Elliot have chosen to traverse the boot in a three-wheeled Piaggio Ape van.

The British boys have outfitted their Italian van with an oven and plan to sell tradition style pizzas out of the back of their car during road trip stops.
With the Piaggio Ape van reaching a top speed of 40 mph, the 2000 mile trip will take weeks. The journey which began on the 10th of October should mean the brothers reach their home in the UK on the 4th of November.

Thom and James are treating the slow ride as an opportunity to explore the length of Italy and taste all the local flavors. Arriving back home in London, they’ll be well prepared to serve up authentic Italian pizza.
