How did we feel about Michael o'Leary's view about flying through volcanic ash?  Would we be happy to fly with Ryanair as we'd have more chance of arriving at our destination, or more likely to fall out of the sky?

We are thinking of going to Sardinia for a holiday in June and wonder which is the best bit to aim for.  Have heard of Costa Esmerelda, any views on it?

Trip Report: Positano May 2009  After our adventures in Rome and Avellino Province in Campania (see previous trip reports) we moved on for the main part of our holiday, some serious chilling out on the beach.  We left our Agriturismo near Contrado

There doesn't seem to be a Campania section any more on this forum, I did a lot of research for our holiday on it....needless to say we had a great time, though got lost in Avellino every time we went there, it became our least favourite place tha

Just to add to the le March love in, we flew to Ancona when Bryanair did the cheap flights and have a fab few days in Portonovo, then drove off to Umbria and were very impressed by the mountains and forests etc en route (this must have been 2007), I think they were just building an autostrada through the mountains.... came back from north Umbria and stayed in Urbino which is a completely magical place, then drove down the coast through the seaside resorts (stopped at Senigallia - twinned with Chester) and back to Ancona.  Really wish we still had those cheap flights, would beback to Portonovo for a weekend again like a shot...Daughter and son out law are heading to south le March in September, I look forward to hearing how they get on, and friends are off to the Tolentino area some time around then too.Sadly on our trip in 2007 we were not in the position to buy anything!

I too saw Countryfile, quite an interesting point, as climate change is causing new wildlife to come to certain areas and others to die out... presumably this is evolution and we can't/shouldn't do anything about it.  The mink, however, have been a problem for years... I was in Shetland in the late 70s and they were causing all sorts of problems up there...the American crayfish is decimating local river life in UK, but if they are the stronger breed (same as grey squirrels), is that a form of evolution?  Quite a tricky debate...

Luccy Luccy you.  As OH always says, the harder I work, the luckier I get.  Best of luck and give us progress reports from time to time (when not on tour of course).

We spent part of our holiday in May in Avillo, staying in a an Agriturismo near Contrado.  Can't remember Candida, but definitely remember Nusco, had a very memorable lunch with Antonio in Locando di Bu.  There is a trip report here somewhere under 'Campania'.Hope everything goes well with the move and settling in and life in Avellino!
