Tonight is the night to celebrate the king of Italian cheeses, Parmigiano Reggiano.
The Parmigiano Reggiano Consortium is holding the second annual “Parmigiano Reggiano Night,” whose goal is to gather around a virtual table all lovers of Parmigiano. Fans of this signature Italian cheese are “invited to invite” family and friends over to cook together a Parmesan cheese-based dish.
To take part in the initiative, register on the consortium’s website, or on their Facebook page, choose one of the proposed recipes or invent one of your own, invite your friends with personalized web invitations and finally get together and eat. It is possible to upload images of the recipe and of the dinner with friends on the Parmigiano Reggiano Night 2 app.
Five chefs belonging to the “Chef to Chef EmiliaRomagnaCuochi Association” will be giving away to the public five recipes that can be tried at home or enjoyed at their restaurants tonight. The participating chefs are: Paolo Teverini of Teverini Restaurant (Bagno di Romagna), Massimo Spigaroli of Antica Corte Pallavicina restaurant (Polesine Parmense), Marcello Leoni of Leoni restaurant (Bologna), Giovanna Guidetti of Osteria La Fefa (Finale Emilia), Gianni D’Amato of Arti e Mestieri restaurant (Reggio Emilia).
This year's edition will go as far as New York, where Eataly NY has organized an event to celebrate Parmigiano Reggiano.
