Pitigliano (Tuscany)

Pitigliano is a town in the province of Grosseto, Tuscany. The quaint old town is known as the little Jerusalem, for the historical presence of a Jewish community that has always been well integrated into the social context and that have their own Synagogue. The Tempietto ("Small temple") is a small cave, probably of natural origin but considerably reworked by human hands, lying a few hundred meters outside the central district, yet far above the Lente valley. Its purpose and builders remain unknown. The Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul was built prior to 1500, and remodeled during the 16th century and later in a baroque-style. The façade is flanked on the left from the bell tower that has plastered the bottom, but maintains its original medieval appearance in tufa.

What others are saying about Tuscany

Flying Freehold: Does anyone have any experience of purchasing a freehold apartment in an Italian village, where the situation is that the property is freehold, and above another owner's property?

Hi! I know it's been a long time since the post, but I am hoping you will be able to help me. I am currently looking for property to buy near Impruneta, Tuscany.

We have bought a house in Tuscany, rented an apartment to move into while we work on the house, and will be driving over at the beginning of November with our dogs to start our new life.
