Sassoferrato (Marche)

Sassoferrato is a town of the province of Ancona, in the Marche region of central-eastern Italy. To the south of the town lie the ruins of the ancient Sentinum, on the Via Flaminia. The castle above the town is mentioned from the 11th century; the town belonged to the House of Este from 1208, later to the Atti family, becoming a free municipality in 1460 after the assassination of Luigi degli Atti.

Recipes From Marche

Looking for the perfect pasta dish for the weekend? Francine Segan shares a very unique meat sauce from the Piceno province in the Marche region.

Our writer Cindy gives us the best recipe for homemade whole-grain 'tagliatelle,' a fresh pasta that is easier to make then it seems, from the northern and central areas of Italy

What others are saying about Marche

Can anyone recommend a chimney sweep in the Fermo region of Marche, ideally between Amandola and Comunanza?

Dear community,

We are currently looking into buying a property just outside of Macerata. Does anyone know of a good English speaking solicitor in the area as our Italian is very basic?

Thank you

Household bills, have I thought of everything?

insurance, gas, electric, water, TARI and IMU......anything I’ve missed? We are in the process of buying a house near in Le Marche so any help/ guidance appreciated. One last thing; is IMU and TASI the same thing?
